The BackStage is the hitch mounted bike carrier we've all been waiting for. It's incredibly stable and has very generous spacing to reduce the chances of bike to bike interference. It also accommodates a huge range of bikes with allowance for tires ranging from road bike sizes right up to 5in fat bike tyres, wheel diameters from 20in to 29in, plus it tilts 30 degrees for excellent boot or hatch access. When not in use it can also fold flat against the back of your vehicle to keep it out of the way.
Its most impressive feature though is the swing function, which allows you full access to the rear of your vehicle. It will easily swing out 180 degrees fully loaded, making it more versatile and user friendly than most other hitch-mounted platform racks on the market.
If you like the sound of the BackStage but need to carry more bikes then a third bike attachment the Monorail Add-on can be purchased separately to transform it into a three bike carrier.
The BackStage is also a great solution for carrying Downhill and Enduro bikes due to a wheel base allowance of 91cm up to 127cm, plus plenty of fork crown clearance. It's also perfect for carbon road bikes as there's no contact with the frame.
For security it includes an integrated cable lock for your bikes plus a locking hitch bolt, which both use the same key for added convenience.
Fitting this carrier is very straightforward but please note that it only fits 2inch hitches, please refer to the instructions for more information on installation.
For vehicles that have a rear mounted spare tire, a recessed hitch, or for cargo vans Rockymounts also have the option of the Rockymounts Hitch Extension which provides an additional 8inches of clearance. To check whether your vehicle needs the extender please measure the distance from the pin-hole near the end of your hitch to your needed clearance point and check it against the Rockymounts Backstage dimensions chart. Also ensure you account for the width of your bike's handlebars when considering whether you need an extension.
For safety and legal compliance it's recommended to use a lightboard with your rear mounted bike carrier, the Rockymounts LED licence plate holder is a great option but you'll need the Backstage LED lightboard bracket kit for a perfect fit, sold separately.
Unfortunately, bikes with fenders are not be suitable for this bike rack.

There are no deliveries made on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays by our couriers.
Typically, We will despatch orders the next working day. Orders placed on Friday will generally be despatched the following work day which would be Monday of the following or the next working day. Orders placed 1 day prior or on the same day as a public holiday will be despatched the next working day.
No retailer or courier company can ever "guarantee" a next working day delivery.
All courier companies occasionally have the same transport problems that can happen to everyone, inclusive of but not limited to: snow blocked roads, closed roads, traffic jams, mechanical breakdown, an inability to find the delivery address or to gain access to it if, for example, it's in a block of flats. We work with some of the best couriers in the business, and overall they provide an outstanding service.
Please note that we cannot be held responsible for the consequences of any delay caused by the failure of our contracted couriers to fulfil their obligations, although we will always do all that is reasonable to provide the goods by the time required. Please also note that the percentage of delayed deliveries is very small, and the percentage of items lost in transit is all but non-existent.
